Small Groups

We have a number of small groups that you can attend. Small Groups are a great place to meet new friends, develop deeper relationships, reach out to our community, and get to know God better.

The Heart of the Mercy Vineyard Church

We believe that Small Groups are at the very heart of what we do as a church. They are the foremost place in which relationships are built and in which the Holy Spirit shows up in prayer, worship, and Bible study to encourage and instruct us as we seek to grow as followers of Jesus.

Small Groups also provide important support to the spiritual training and growth we provide through our foundations classes. For those who are still questioning whether or not to follow Jesus, Small Groups are the perfect place to try it out, ask questions, and receive prayer. We've found that in general, the people who gain the most fulfilling and rewarding benefits from their experience in our church do so through their involvement in a Small Group.

Interested in leading a Small Group?

As a church we believe that, in the end, every dream in God is a leadership dream. Leading a Small Group is a terrific way to grow in your relationship with God, discover and utilize your spiritual gifts, and to concretely love the people God puts in your life. We recommend leading a Small Group as a way of actualizing the the dreams and purposes God uniquely has for you.

Here a few ways to prepare yourself to become a Small Group Leader:

  • Join a Small Group. Become part of a community actively pursuing Jesus.
  • Finish some of the basic classes at our church, including the Foundations series, Learning to Minister Like Jesus, and a small group leader training.
  • Talk with your Small Group Leaders about opportunities to help with your current Small Group. For example, offer to update the group roster, to bring snacks, to help with worship, or to pray regularly for the group's members.

Throughout the process keep talking with your Small Group Leaders. They are the best people to give you support and guidance along the way as you grow in both leadership and in your relationship with God.
