Volunteer at Mercy
Want to pitch in? Many people have found that helping out around the church is one of the best ways to form life-changing relationships. We have opportunities that range from very low to very high commitment. If you would like contact someone about specific opportunities, click on a link below. Or you can complete an interest form here.
Volunteer Orientation
Attend a Volunteer Orientation to hear what it means to us for you to volunteer at Mercy, tips on how to make the most of it, answers to frequently asked questions, and meet coordinators of the different areas of serving in the church to find out how to get started. Volunteer Orientations are on Sundays during the 11am service on June 24 or August 5. Contact volunteer@mercyvineyard.org to sign up.
Sunday Services
Serve with kids (infant-4th grade)
We need people to teach on Sunday, cut out shapes during, or just be helpers who serve juice and clean up. If you want more information, contact Jessie Carlson.
Serve with pre-teens (5th-8th grade)
We need drivers to pick kids up, teachers to lead on Sunday mornings, and mentors to help kids find out what's next. If you want more information, contact Angie Camper.
Hospitality Team
This is a great way to get started at Mercy- make coffee, shake hands, hand out bulletins, and meet new people. If you want more information, contact Dano Sauter.
Help with Worship and Tech
There are opportunities to play an instrument on the team, sing, run sound, or run the display computer. If you want more information, contact Katie Sauter.
Prayer Team
If you are unfamiliar with the Vineyard's style of prayer, please take the next Learning to Minister Like Jesus class. If you are familiar with prayer and new to Mercy, contact Dano Sauter to attend the Prayer Team Orientation Meeting.
Other Opportunitites
Mentoring at Edison High School
We have created a partnership with our neighbors at Edison and are looking for eager, committed, capable volunteers to help students and students athletes with their studies. We want to build up the youth in this community any way we can, and helping them graduate strong is an amazing opportunity that we want to take full advantage of. One hour sessions, twice a week for the rest of the school year can go a long way. If interested, contact Dano Sauter.
Volunteer at Family VBS!
We are looking for volunteers to help lead small groups of kids, help with games, snacks, and art projects on June 12 & 13 for our Family VBS. If you are interested please stop by the VBS information table in the cafe or email Jessie at jessie.carlson@mercyvineyard.org.
Soccer Week
June 25-28 from 9am-10:30am at Logan Park in NE we’ll be putting on a youth soccer clinic for our neighbors and our MVC youngsters, ages 5-11, who want to have fun and get tips and training on their soccer skills from experienced coaches. Each day will include training, games, and a snack. We’ll end the week with a Hot Dog Lunch that the whole family can attend! Sign your kids up in the Café! To volunteer, come to an interest meeting during the 11am service on June 3. The only requirement is that you like soccer (you don’t need to be an expert!), and have a heart for kids. Come to the meeting and see what kind of opportunities are available! For more info, talk to Dano (dano.sauter@mercyvineyard.org, or Krista Steffen (krista.steffen@gmail.com).
Garage Sale Collection
Clean out your basement because Mercy Vineyard, along with Mill City Church, is putting on a giant NE Garage sale to raise money for the NE Family Fair! We’ll be collecting donations June through July 15 for the sale, which will be July 19-21. You can drop off your stuff at the church Tuesday-Friday, or on Sunday morning. Also, if you’d like to volunteer to help us sort items, contact Dano, dano.sauter@mercyvineyard.org or sign up in Café!
