About Us

Mercy Vineyard Church started in 2004 when a group of 11 people moved came from the Champaign Vineyard to Minneapolis for the purpose of starting a new Vineyard church. We've been meeting in public services since February 2005, and we moved into our current location in February of 2006.

Our long term goal is to build a large, multi-ethnic, church planting church that extends the kingdom of God in Minneapolis and the surrounding area.

About the Vineyard™ movement

We highly value our affiliation with the Vineyard movement. The Vineyard is a network of 600 churches in the US and another 700 internationally. While these churches retain a high level of independence, we share a common statement of faith and unique style of ministry. You can find lots more information at the national web site.

Our Values

We have two foundational values that guide our church. These values are based on Mark 12:29-31.

  • We value worshiping and following Jesus as he is revealed in the Bible.
  • We value loving relationships between people.

These values are expressed in six priorities. These aren't the only priorities we have, but they form the core of who we are as a church.

Evangelism:
we seek to share the transforming love of Jesus with other people through words and actions.
Discipleship:
we seek to pursue maturity in Christ through a lifelong process of spiritual growth.
Pursuing Justice:
we seek to pursue justice, alleviate suffering, and improve society in the name of Jesus.
Theological Reflection:
we seek to honor God with our minds through study and conversation.
Silence and Contemplation:
we seek to develop a deep life of the Spirit in the midst of the noise of urban life.
Supernatural:
we seek to experience the power of God through prophecy, healing, and miracles.
